From October 2023, a ban on single-use plastics came into effect. This means we will be delisting the following cups and their associated lids:
- 4J6 – 4oz White Polystyrene Deli Pot
- 16MJ20 – 16oz White Polystyrene EPS Container
- 16MJ32 – 16oz White Polystyrene EPS Container
- 20MJ32 – 20oz White Polystyrene EPS Container
- 24MJ32 – 24oz White Polystyrene EPS Container
The law will apply to hospitality businesses like fast food / take away restaurants, but it won’t apply to shops like Supermarkets, Butchers and single use manufacturers. If you run a takeaway that sells hot soup, hot sauces and hot food to go, now is the time to look at the packaging you currently use and be prepared to make the necessary changes to ensure you continue to operate within the law.
