I had to sit for a while and ponder where to start really. So much going on, so much has changed, yet equally, so much seems just the same. Does that make sense? Firstly, a massive THANKYOU to our customers in 2020 – both for your orders, and your patience too! At times, we were almost overwhelmed with orders, stock shortages, questions, out of stock items and courier delays. You name it, we had it going on.
Trending products caused us and our suppliers more than the odd headache; many of you fed the nation afternoon tea in Windowed Traybake Boxes, by far one of our most requested products last Summer. It took us a while to get on top of demand, so now we have 2 suppliers. Hopefully we won’t run out again quite so soon. If we do run short, these heavy duty cake boxes boxes are worth a look. Dan’s kitchen has been very busy with afternoon teas, and he’s made use of our Heavy Duty Cake Boxes.
Plastic Takeaway Containers also fed many of us in lockdown too; NHS Staff ate food from our 650cc Rectangular Containers, and stick your hand up if you didn’t eat the odd take away last year. This has put a massive strain on the supply chain, and we are now feeling the effects of this in 2021. Alongside increasing demand here in the Uk, many of our in demand food containers are manufactured outside of the Uk and are taking longer to clear customs.
It’s worth having a packaging “Plan B” in place, as we are seeing exceptional demand for Multi Compartment Take Away Containers. As fast as we are able to stock them, they are selling out, and our suppliers are limiting what they are sending us. (Trust me, if we could order more, we would) Whilst we remain in lockdown, we don’t see this changing.
Restrictions. You may come across an item with an order quantity restriction on it. (The traybakes I mentioned above are a good example) This ensures that everyone has the opportunity to order at least 1 box of something, rather than one customer taking all our stock and on some occasions re-selling.
Gloves. When Lockdown 1 was announced last March, the price of Blue Gloves shot through the roof. As a re-seller, we weren’t comfortable passing on the massive price hikes to our customers. We’ll leave PPE to the specialists.
Deliveries. Our couriers are operating as usual; if you need an order delivered next day, please place your order by 2pm (Mon-Fri) and DPD will do the rest. More information can be found here
Click & Collect. We are back open for our local customers! All we ask is that you place your order through the website / over the phone, select Click & Collect and we can pick it in readiness for your arrival. Please can we ask any visitors to wear a mask if they are entering the building – this is in line with the latest Government Covid-19 guidelines.
Samples. We are offering our sample service; all we ask is that you drop us an email with your name, address and a list of up to 10 products you’d like to see. We aim to ship samples within 2 weeks, as paid orders are taking priority right now.
More news will no doubt follow and in the meantime, stay safe out there.
Kate 🙂
