Heat Sealing Machines – how to order

To the right type of customer, our CPET Microwave & Oven Safe Trays do a particular job and they do it very well indeed. These heat sealed food packaging trays are best suited to food manufacturers who supply retail outlets where end users will be cooking / re-heating food at a later date, we’re all familiar with a Dinger Dinner (pierce film lids several times, and watch out for the steam!)

CPET trays are safe for use in a Conventional Oven, Microwave, Freezer and Fridge. You will need to purchase 4 parts:

• A Machine
• Trays
• Lidding Film
• A Metal Form for the tray to sit in

We sell 17 different trays, 3 machines, 6 sizes of film and 5 metal forms, so we thought a buying guide is in order. Some of the trays listed are black; the dye used makes the trays almost impossible to recycle. They will all gradually switch to one of a range of pastel colours, and are produced from 80% post consumer content. (We can’t specify the colour, although all trays will be uniform in colour in each box)

Firstly, identify the size of tray you’d like to seal, and follow the row for our recommendation of film and machine. I’ve stuck with the Weld Film – its the cheaper of the 2 on offer. (The other is an Easy Peel film that doesn’t need a knife to get in to)

The main thing to remember is that the 2nd tray measurement (eg 155 x 127 x 40mm) should be smaller than the film you pick (eg CPET-WELD130) We will of course double check the items you have ordered to make sure they are compatible.

Start with the tray size:

Finally, you need a metal form for the tray to sit in while the machine seals the tray. Start with the machine size this time, and select the correct form to complete your order. (double check whether your tray is a 1, 2 or 3 compartment) This bit is much more straight forward!

Lead times: The machine takes a couple of days and the trays and film are held in stock here. The forms are manufactured to order, so please allow approx 2 weeks from the time of ordering. We tend to ship everything together, as you need all parts for everything to work. There is a handy video here, showing you just how easy the machine is to use.
