Plastic Glasses
We hold a range of disposable and reusable plastic
glasses in stock - manufactured from a range of different
plastics. Disposable plastic glasses are ideally only
for single use and usually either crack easily or do not
wash without breaking. Reusable plastic glasses are
manufactured to be many times more durable, be dropped and
not break and be dish washer proof. Some of the high
end reusable plastic glasses are as good as the glass
counterparts with all the benefits of plastic. Below
is a summary of the typical types of plastic glasses we
stock:
Crystal Glasses
The crystal glasses are thin walled polystyrene tumblers that
provide the highest level of transparency. Manufactured under
strict hygienic conditions the tumblers are all sleeved to keep them
clean and dust free. Lightweight crystal glasses are
particularly suitable for serving drinks where the prime
consideration is clarity. Disposable tumblers cannot be
government stamped as the products can be flexed and capacity
altered.
Flexy Glass Disposable
Flexy glasses are thin walled polypropylene tumblers that are
crack resistant. The tumblers are designed with a step in
base, for maximum stackability. This also allows them to be
easily pulled apart, thus making them ideal choice in busy bars and
areas where safety is a prime consideration and speed of service.
Manufactured under strict hygienic conditions the tumblers are all
sleeved to keep them clean and dust free. Disposable tumblers cannot
be government stamped as the products can be flexed and capacity
altered.Reusable Glasses
Hard walled polystyrene shot glasses, tumblers and wine glasses
are available in a variety of shapes, colours and sizes. Dishwasher
safe and reusable they are very rigid and will withstand in excess
of 100 uses without showing signs of wear and tear. The material
used is heat resistant up to 100oC and will resist acids, alcohols,
fats, oils and salt solutions. Isopropyl alcohol detergent
should be avoided. We also carry a few products made from S.A.N.
(Styreneacrylonitrile)Unbreakable Glasses
Virtually unbreakable glasses are manufactured from Polycarbonate which
is unbreakable in normal usage. The glasses will withstand in
excess of 500 uses without showing signs of deterioration. All
products produced with Polycarbonate can be sterilised and will
withstand temperatures up to 145oC. The material is resistant
to oil, dilute acids, alcohol and it is flame retardant.
Isopropyl alcohol should be avoided. Polycarbonate is used in making
police riot shields, making these tumblers totally unbreakable.
